Zanzibar and Such...

Oh my,

So much to say since I wrote last. Zanzibar was awesome. See the next post for pictures.

We left on Friday morning super early and took the boat to Zanzibar island. It took about an hour and a half and wasn't too sea-sick-ish. When we got there we had breakfast at a hotel and then went on a spice tour. They brought us around a little forest and showed us all of these different plants that were spices and different kinds of fruit. It was amazing. The pictures tell the story way better than I can. Next, we went to a little Island and got to pet tortoises! (again, see photos). Saturday we went snorkeling which was really fun but a little underwhelming. Sunday we went shopping and I bought a zillion (like 7) beautiful scarves and a few different kinds of spices. Monday we just headed back on the boat which was terrible. The boat rocked so crazily -- it was pretty scary.

Now I am back and a bunch of other study abroad programs have arrived. No one else has studied swahili before which makes us all feel nice and advanced.

Ok--off to bed soon.

Love you all.
